On Friday, October 23 & Saturday, October 24, 2009 Symons Valley United Church will host the 4th Annual Affirming Conference, "Reaching Out: We're All in This Closet Together!" Affirm United is an initiative of the United Church of Canada directed towards the full inclusion of gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered people in the life of the church and society as a whole.

"We will have a keynote address and a selection of workshops on Saturday and a movie, discussion, and dessert after a chili supper on Friday evening. Cost: $30 if registration and payment are received by October 9 and $45 after October 9. Registration and contact details will be coming out in August. Come learn about radical welcoming and the issues facing our homosexual brothers, sisters, parents, friends, and faith communities...WE ARE NOT ALONE, WE LIVE IN GOD'S WORLD!"
